Did you know there are nearly 50,000 students in failing seats at Chicago Public Schools (CPS)?

According to a new report Who is sitting in those seats? The Students Most Affected by Chicago's Lowest-performing Schools from New Schools for Chicago 49,984 students are being provided a low-quality education.

Even more, a disproportionate number of minority students are in the lowest performing seats with one in four African American students and one in 25 Hispanic students in seats that are considered to be failing, compared to only two in every 100 white students.
