LSC Information Session

Local School Councils are one of the most significant and influential elective bodies in Chicago. They approve school budgets, hire principals and hold them accountable, and develop and monitor plans for school improvement.

Every traditional neighborhood school in Chicago has an LSC with elected Parent and Community Representatives who serve in 2-year terms. Running for LSC is easy – most candidates win with just a few dozen votes, and many elections have fewer candidates than positions available. Local elections will be held this April.

Kids First Chicago is hosting an LSC Information Session for people interested in learning more and we hope you’ll join us!
