Q: What would you change about the enrollment process in Chicago?
A: I would make all selective enrollment schools more fair and just to get accepted by taking away the loophole where the top 30% point earners get in automatically. Everyone should get in via their tier group, and 8th grade public school students should get an extra 10-15 points added to their total.

Q: What's the hardest thing about enrolling in school in Chicago?
A: For elementary school, it’s hard to know which schools to apply to because you don’t know what a good fit means for a 5 year old. For high school, it is very competitive to get into high performing schools and programs. The higher performing charter high schools put their students through too much for me to feel good as a parent sending my child there.

Q: What would you change about the enrollment process in Chicago?
A: I would open more seats/schools within the city. There are too few seats at selective enrollment schools and many b+ students are left without decent options.

Q: What's the hardest thing about enrolling in school in Chicago?
A: When I was about to graduate from 8th grade I wanted to select a selective enrollment school to attend. I took the selective enrollment test and I did not make it into a selective enrollment school because it was difficult. Also it was hard to determine what schools were good in academics.

Q: What's the hardest thing about enrolling in school in Chicago?
A: Making sure all paperwork is connected from one school to the next. Also, ensuring that student academic and discipline data transfers as well. For example, a student might have been tardy to school 67 times, which impact his attendance, however, this data is not shared with the new school. If the students was to stay at his current school, it would impact his end of the year complication and attending summer school.
